The conference is dedicated to the anniversary of the outstanding researcher of the musical culture of the peoples of the Volga region, the Hungarian folklorist, musicologist and teacher László Vikár. The purpose of the conference is the exchange of modern scientific findings in the field of traditional and professional musical culture of the Finno-Ugric world, a synthesis of existing experience and a discussion of the prospects for the development of scientific research in this direction.

Musicologists, ethnographers and ethnomusicologists, research workers of the scientific research institute of an arts profile, teachers, students, graduate students and applicants of musical universities, and also teachers of professional educational institutions are invited to participate in the conference

  • Music of the Finno-Ugric ethnic groups: issues concerning the specificity of ethnic identity
  • Finno-Ugric musical subcultures of the Volga region as a socio-artistic phenomenon

  • The current state and prospects for the development of musical Finno-Ugric studies
  • Intercultural interaction of Finno-Ugric, Turkic, Slavic and other peoples of Tatarstan

A Letter of Application written in free form with the following details: the participant’s full name, academic degree, title, position/year of studies, address (postal and electronic), telephone/fax, topic of presentation, request for hotel booking (if necessary), and technical equipment for delivering the presentation.

Article for publication in the conference proceedings. No more than 0,7 printed pages.

 

Technical requirements for the abstract format:

 

The article is typed in Microsoft Word, font Times New Roman.

The initials and surname of the author are placed before the text of the article, the alignment on the right side.

The title of the article is the Caps Lock mode, 13 pt font, semi-bold, central alignment, interval 1.2.

The text - 15 pt font, interval multiplier 1,2; justified alignment; paragraph indent 1 cm, margins: top, left, right - 2.5 cm, bottom - 3.5 cm.

Only automatic hyphenation, no more than 3 in a row.

Please do not use (except those set in the general set parameters) any additional methods of text alignment, line alignment, spacing changes, forced hyphenation, hard space, etc.

Please do not leave spaces before punctuation.

Italics and bold type can be used in the text.

Examples of the scores, tables and charts should be typed no more than 15 cm in width. (Please consider illustrative material as part of the overall work).

Footnotes - at the bottom of the page, numbering of footnotes on each page, 13 pt font, single spacing, justified alignment, paragraph indent 1 cm; references to sources are taken in square brackets in accordance with the numbers of the bibliographic list at the end of the text (for example: [3. p. 45]).

The order of the sources of bibliography:

1) alphabetic; 2) first sources in Russian, then foreign ones;

3) electronic sources are placed after published sources.

Travel and accommodation expenses are covered by the participants. The time for presentation is limited to 20 minutes. In case of publication a fee may be charged. The conference organizing committee reserves the right not to include a paper in the conference program, and not to accept articles that do not meet the above requirements.
